Overview
ChocolateBar adds a horizontal or vertical strip for Mac menu bar items and can hide selected icons from the main bar. Accessibility permission lets it read and interact with those items; it does not require Screen Recording. Some hidden items use mirrored menus, whose appearance and custom behavior can differ from the original. Support is limited to macOS 12 Monterey through macOS 15 Sequoia on Intel and Apple silicon; macOS 26 Tahoe is unsupported. The standard US$15 purchase includes one year of updates. The installed version keeps working afterward, while later releases require a new update license. A 48-hour trial requires no payment card. The developer describes menu caches as local and reports no telemetry. Update checks expose the IP address and app version, and update downloads use a license key linked to the purchase. These privacy statements were checked against the policy, without runtime network testing.
