Editorial policy

Public facts should be traceable, current, and useful.

Indie Mac Apps is an independent editorial project. This policy is effective from and applies to the published directory, comparisons, and guides.

Policy effective ·

Editorial method

  • Confirm app identity, developer, category, purchase model, compatibility, and approved destinations.
  • Write original overview, workflow, feature, and caution copy.
  • Bind public icons and screenshots to reviewed local assets.
  • Keep draft, queued, rejected, and incomplete records out of public routes.

Source policy

Product facts are grounded in official developer material or other approved evidence captured during review. Competitor descriptions, rankings, and proprietary datasets are not source material for public copy.

Pricing and compatibility can change. Each listing shows when its evidence was checked, and visitors should confirm current terms before buying.

External-link policy

App calls to action pass through an internal interstitial and may only resolve to a reviewed official or authorized destination. The directory does not host installers and does not control the destination site.

Uncertainty and corrections

Unsupported, conflicting, or unresolved facts should be excluded or stated as a caution instead of converted into certainty. Send corrections to hello@indiemacapps.com with the affected page and an official supporting source. Material corrections should update the visible verification date or policy date as appropriate.
