Overview
Sonder is a free, MIT-licensed Markdown editor for macOS that works with folders of local Markdown files. It supports Apple silicon and Intel Macs running macOS 14 or later. Its optional Assistant uses an AI command-line tool already installed on your Mac, such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini or Ollama. When invoked, Assistant passes document context, any selection, recent Assistant conversation and your request to the selected tool. Processing, network transmission and any service charges depend on that tool and its provider. An AI CLI and any required account or model must be configured separately. Data-handling information is available in the official product-page FAQ; no standalone privacy policy was located during this review.
